Printing your own Memorial Tribute Portraits.

Steel City Portraits provide our portraits two ways, we print them out and mail them with or without a frame, or we can send them to you as a digital format which you can print yourself or even have it printed at a Kinko's and some UPS printing stores. Even though we recommend having us print them, below are some requirements needed in order to print yourself.

Printing Requirements

Our portraits are larger then normal pictures, so your printer must be able to print in wide format with at least 11" or 16" width. We also suggest you have some kind of printing software such as AXIS which allows you to change size, dpi, etc.

A 5760 x 1440 optimized dpi printer will insure your best prints, also we recommend using a flat matte paper sometimes called poster matte of a good weight to reduce any glare that is caused by regular photo paper.

If your printer meets these above requirements then we will be glad to ship your photo as a digital format.

Printers We Recommend

Here are a few printers we recommend to our clients.
Epson Stylus Pro 3880 Inkjet Printer (CA61201-VM)  - This will print up to 16x20" portraits
Epson C11C655001 Stylus Photo 1400 Large Format Photo Printer  - This will print up to 11x14" portraits

There is a big difference in price between to the printers however getting the larger one does allow you to print both sizes and after printing a few portraits out you will make up for the price very quickly. More information about these two printers can be found on the epson website or you can give us a call at 412-879-0098
